Explore our heritage and deepen your connection with the culture of West Africa through this transformative 16-day journey across Ghana.

Travel with a dynamic group from across the United States as we move intentionally through three regions — from the capital city of Accra, to the Royal Ashanti region of Kumasi, to a home stay experience in the Upper East for true cultural connection — all while learning how cooperative systems function collectively in Ghana.

The Journey

Accra → Tamale → Bolgatanga → Paga → Accra → Prampram → Kumasi → Accra

Across Ghana we will:

• Explore historical sites in Accra

• Walk the vibrant merchant market of Bolgatanga, where men and women sustain regional trade economies

• Participate in a village home stay experience in Kazigu, learning from a Shea Butter Collective and practicing cooperative economics firsthand

• Visit Cocoa Mmaa farm near Kumasi to understand cocoa production and the global commodity chain

• Learn about rich history at Manhyia Palace Museum in the Royal Ashanti region

• Gather at the Ancestral Wall in Pram Pram for reflection and return

Along the way, participants will experience:

• Hands-on cooperative business workshops

• Natural earth building education

• Kente Village visit & optional Naming Ceremony

• Adinkra dye fabric classes

• Immersive Ghanaian music, art & cultural experiences

• Beautiful landscapes 

The pacing is intentional. Long travel days are buffered. Rest is valued as much as learning.
