Tanzania Coop Culture Tour
August 2027
Repaired Nations invites participants to experience Tanzania through a 14-day international learning journey centered on culture, history, cooperation, community, and transformation. This experience is designed for people who want to do more than visit a destination. Participants will learn directly from local communities, build meaningful relationships, explore community-led development models, and return home with ideas that can strengthen their own organizations and neighborhoods.
The journey will begin with seven days in Arusha, located in the heart of northern Tanzania. Participants will stay at Mama C’s United African Alliance Community Center(UAACC), where they will engage in cultural immersion, community exchange, and collective learning. The Arusha experience will include a full-day safari at Tarangire National Park, opportunities to learn how spices are grown and harvested, and participation in the Repaired Nations Tanzania Summit. The summit will create space for participants and community leaders to learn, share ideas, and build together.
The second portion of the journey will take place in Zanzibar, where participants will explore the island’s history, cultural heritage, and natural beauty. Activities will include visits to historic Stone Town, UNESCO heritage sites, the former Slave Market, the House of Wonders, and other important cultural locations. Participants will also visit a spice farm, connect with local entrepreneurs, cooperatives, and grassroots organizations, and take part in community exchange activities.
The Zanzibar experience will also include time for rest, reflection, and renewal along the island’s beaches. The journey will conclude with a reflection session, celebration, and farewell dinner, allowing participants to process what they have learned and identify ways to apply those lessons when they return home.
